Garrock intro. Open to all [25 Feb 2006|08:33pm]

garrock
The moon shines high in the sky, the wind blows cold across the hill top, Garrock sits alone, contemplating, thinking of a way to get the great Vackashken’s attention, long has Garrock waited, fighting along side the other soldiers of the God Hand but now it is time to reveal himself….

“I’m sick of practicing the dark arts alone, I need companionship, I crave the love and respect of my fellow mages but here I sit, alone on a hill, trying to hide my powers” Garrock says to his mentor Philan.
“Patience boy, your time will come soon” the mentor replies as he vanishes from sight.

As he walks down the hill towards the mighty city, he looks up and see’s the bright lights of the Vackashken’s grand house.
“I wonder how it must feel to live in such a grand house, I will find out one day” he thinks to himself. He continues to walk towards the pub, as he approaches he is overwhelmed by the noise coming from it and enters the door, he walks towards the bar and orders a stiff warming drink.

One sided conversation. Open as appropriate. [14 Feb 2006|03:59pm]

kaliska_rhele
Again on the outskirts of the city, a lone Mithra sat, her back against a sturdy tree. She seemed asleep almost, lost in thought maybe. But she was far from that. She sat in quiet meditation yet alert to her surrounding, for the time being at least. She liked it here, far from the sprawling city that was now her home. This place was peaceful, a little distance from the city and yet not too great a distance to be unsafe. There were few disturbances here and that was the way she needed it. Anyone watching or listening may have seen her lips move a little like she was talking to some unseen agent, or heard her whispered replies, but there was no-one there. No-one to see her and no-one for her to be talking with. Again this was far from true, unless you count the esper that sat shimmering before her. Carbuncle stood, looking intently at her and from time to time he cocked his head to this side or that.

"I don't underrrstand, the city seems peaceful....."

It burns so bright. [08 Feb 2006|04:27pm]

the_npc
The flames reached high into the sky, almost as though they were alive, like the flicking tongue of some great serpent. The stench of burnt flesh hung heavy in the air, somehow entwining with the sounds of the anguished screams of the dying. Nothing in the primitive clay and wooden village was left untouched by the destruction of flame and magic. Lives once lived here were ground into the very ash that marked the existence of these people.Read more...Collapse )

Enter Yuff: Open [06 Feb 2006|05:22pm]

kuroijishou
[ mood | discontent ]

(Eh, Gonna be a simple intro. Sorry it's a day later than I said I would... --; I still don't know if i should use this or Yuff_kuroi to post this, lol ^^; I'm thinking something can happen, so I'll leave this how it is for now.)

A lone figure stands, well, rests up against the gates to the city of Parino, her dark crimson cloth armor barely noticable in the beginning of dusk. Lamps are just starting to be lit in the homes of the residents while the bars seem to have had them blazing all day from all the ruckus.
"Sigh... What a ruckus." she says to herself.
She pushes herself away from the wall and walks through the gates, deeper into the city.
"We've been here a long time... I wonder when we're going to move out... All this sitting around..." she mumbles to herself.
She slowly starts to head to her own little cot in one of the many houses in this town
"Come on, Yuff, pull yourself together. Quit looking down... There's plenty of things to do here." she continues, talking to herself. "SOMEthing will happen sooner or later. It always does..."
She turns down one of the alleys of Parino, a shortcut she found not too long ago.

"Safe is the House which lies Under Altana": Open to those fit... [01 Jan 2006|07:43pm]

tashkohren
The day would slip into the night before she would return. Until now, she had spent the hours before wandering the reaches of Parino, making use of time she needed to spend in which to shed any potential followers. When at last she had become content with both the bearings she had gained and the suspicion that had been lost, she set herself on a path back to the Holy Iron Knights safe house.Read more...Collapse )

AT: open to Vackashken, then... [25 Nov 2005|01:40am]

karlick
Karlick had spent the previous night in the commander Kaliska's favorite tavern. She had bought him a few beers and managed to charm a good yarn out of him. The mirtha was a good one, he had to keep telling himself... so used to useless, lazy, callous creatures from experiences past, the lot he continued to find here was a welcome change. But then again, they were simply mirtha, and he was simply elvaan.

His story had been fairly straightforward for the mithra commander. He made no exaggerations. Elvaan were not boastful creatures, only proud, and his story of the time in winter plains north of San D'Oria was nevertheless a good one. Karlick's was a tale of survival and character, trial and action, and how, out of so many, himself and their man Vackashken came to be of the few survivors from a bitter winter. Maybe he shed a little light for his listeners on the personality of their commander; Vackashken had apparently always been a man swift to action and of few foolish plays. And maybe they also noticed that despite their shared trial, Karlick still knew little of the man they followed.

That night he slept hard.

Come next morning, Karlick found himself a bath, dressed and armed himself (still needed to get his mail polished), and was out on the streets of Parino to the main house of operations (the governor's, he recollected). Hopefully there wouldn't be much trouble trying to see the man in charge, and if luck was on his side, a guard from yesterday would be on watch today. He did know where Kaliska kept up, but had little desire to waste time finding her and then later entertaining her.

Thus he was at the step of the house, fancying that, had he a herald, all this trouble wouldn't be on his mind and in his bones. Truth be told, though, he wasn't that worried. He just wanted to handle his business and return to bed. And re-arm himself, dammit...

"I am Karlick d'Garde, here to reacquaint myself with Vackashken of the God Hand. Tell me he is free to speak with an old comrade, keeper."

Cold dark cell: Open to Kavia [20 Nov 2005|08:19pm]

takanna
Ajeya's tail twitched as she bowed to the guards when they left after obeying Vackashken's orders to place Kavia in a cell. Ajeya turned and faced Kavia once the guards had gone. "Hmmm..." she studied her curiously and blinked more often than usual, tilting her head from side to side quite often also. "Kavia...I knew I recognized you...we met at the hunt a while ago. Please forgive my behavior earlier..." she looked down and swirled her foot in the dust, tucking her ears down as well, but soon perked up and studied Kavia some more. "I don't want to undermine my leaders authority and judgement but I do not believe it was necessary to put this harsh a punishment on you." She looked around the caged room in which Kavia was concealed. "It is torture enough to a Mithra to be in this city let alone behind bars inside a stifling city." She cringed. "Is there something I can get for you?" Suddenly Ajeya felt pity as her own words sunk in. Perhaps Vackashken had been a little rough in his dealings...whatever his reason, he had said nothing about her not being able to make the Mithra 'guest' more comfortable until his mood had lightened.

Pondering Bubbles: Open to LadySarel [18 Nov 2005|10:20am]

arafangwen
Arafangwen sat on a stool in the back of a busy Hostel. It was always busy at night and Arafangwen enjoyed being able to blend into the atmosphere and watch those that would enter and exit in the nights time. She breathed a heavy sigh and shut her eyes, leaning her head and back against the cold wall, taking a moment to relax. She opened them again only when she felt a familiar presence enter the place. She looked and caught sight of the face, her mood happier, but her face showed no signs of such expression. She felt a connection with this Elvaan, though unsure why, she felt curious about it and decided to investigate it further. She waited until the other Elvaan had caught her glance before she would motion for her to join.

Closed thread: Looking inward. [15 Nov 2005|09:55pm]

kaliska_rhele
The moon hung full in the cloudy night's sky as Kaliska settled herself comfortably under the spreading boughs of the huge tree. She liked this spot, it was close to the city, yet a reassuring distance from it. It felt safe somehow and this was why she had chosen it. She sat for a brief moment, her chest gently moving up and down as she breathed deeply the cool evening air. She smiled softly to herself and closed her eyes. Reaching deep within herself she felt the flow of the Espers within her. She carefully opened herself up to them, but she was cautious. Some were more.....approachable.

As the noises of the night started to fade around her, she entered a state of what seemed like meditation. Falling inwardly, she allowed the power of the Espers to wash over her. She found who she was looking for and reached out. It had been to long, she had neglected them...him for too long. It was time to affirm their relationship, to forge their friendship more deeply. She had, in the past, sought them...him only in times of great need, when she was lost, when she needed answers; now she only needed companionship.

"I'm sorry it's been so long old frrriend."

Introduction: action thread open to any [14 Nov 2005|07:48pm]

karlick
Days and nights and days and nights. Seasons coming and going. Spring arriving, summer leaving...

Now the air was crisper and more biting and Karlick was moving on.

Four months earlier he had signed up under a man named Rellah to fight over some territorial disagreement not far from Jueno. Sure, he got paid, but it felt like a waste of his time. No women. Stationed in a wasteland. And he should've known from the beginning that his comrades would all be terrible, single-minded conversationalists. So no more Mithra bands for him.

When you were an Elvaan from the homeland and you weren't already serving in the San D'Orian army, it said something about your character. But Karlick had already served his time there, he'd already had his fill. He'd known enough Elvaan that had already moved on. He'd heard of better things to do with his time, of better ways to make something of himself. He didnt know when he had turned into your run-of-the-mill mercenary, though.

So it was with some interest that he carried on to Parino after hearing that one of his old comrades had made something of himself. Sure, he hadn't been a real friend of this guy, but it was always interesting to see how far people had come. And Karlick felt that if it really was Vackashken that had come to lead his own band, maybe he could find a place among it, despite whatever that might to do his pride. Supposedly the guy had really become a dragoon, too. "God Hand" was one hell of a name...

And Parino was one stifling city. The first thing he noticed inside its gates and after the gate check-in was that it was crawling with people. Most of them were obviously soldiers. Mithra dotted the streets, and there were just too many people outside for this time of day, when everyone should be at work. Karlick, of average size for an Elvaan, made way for one of these restless-looking mithra in particular and introduced himself.

"Do you know the Elvaan Vackashken?"

First meeting: Open to Lochlienn and Vackashken... [09 Nov 2005|09:13pm]

takanna
Ajeya led the way through the old majestic hallway dotted with large wooden doors, each with its own design. They walked quite a long ways before reaching Vackashken's door. Ajeya nodded to Lochlienn, "Wait here please." She smiled and knocked on the door, waiting for her invitation to open the doors. "I am sure he heard us coming, he is very keen." She stood, halfway between attention and a lean...mostly because she was studyng the designs on the doors. Looking at them never got old and she didn't know how long it would be before the two were invited in.
